Norway

For the Norwegian case, the DSO will have a passive role, and the local energy trading will be carried out either “behind-the-meter” for a proof of concept and/or on a virtual base to show the effects of scale. It will be based in the test zone for urban sustainability Svartlamon, located in Trondheim. 3-10 costumers are being converted into prosumers, sharing PV power and applying batteries for storage in a local P2P market. The community members are strongly integrated into the whole process, through workshops and direct action activities and have a big role in shaping the market goals and mechanisms. Besides the proof of concept, the legal issues of applying a local energy market in Norway are addressed.
